Respect.

One thing that should NEVER go unnoticed nor non-reciprocated is respect; A quality that should have been developing since before you could even talk. I feel like nowadays people have thrown the concept of respect completely out of their knowledge archive. Regardless of who someone is, or “is not”, how down-to-earth or well-known they are, you should always respect them.

Respect, by definition, is the due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others. This means accepting people for what they stand for, unconditionally. This does not mean you have to love or support what they do or how they think. It just means that you should have some dignity in regards to them as people.

With that being said, we all know people in our lives, past or present, that haven’t completely grasped this idea of unconditional respect. Sometimes it’s even self-respect within us. But with whoever it is, you have to realize that you can’t change anything about a person without their consent. Everyone has to learn at their own rate. People are going to do what they want, think what they want, and say what they want. Here’s the thing- this may all be true, but if everyone just held an eye-level of respect for one another, this free will of action would ultimately turn into a non-vicious cycle of dignity amongst everyone.
